In a short clip shared on social media, we saw Shant and her husband, alongside their young son, as they prepared to make the announcement.

Standing in front of a posh balloon arch, with a white sign that read ‘Boy or girl?’, Shant, who is in her thirties, wore a white strappy dress, as she and her husband David, who have been married for four years, held up cannons.

But before they could even start a countdown and pop the cannons, a loud noise was heard from the crowd of their guests.

The couple’s faces instantly dropped, with Shant looking less than impressed.

The ‘gender reveal fail’ video quickly panned around to the party’s guests, all of whom were holding cannons.

However, the guests, who were all totally stunned, with their mouths open in shock, were covered in small pieces of blue confetti.

Shant explained that her mother-in-law was indeed the culprit, as she wrote: “First rule of gender reveals: Never give a canon to your mother in-law.”

It was not confirmed whether it was a mistake or not, but whilst all of the guests were in disbelief, one woman was heard saying: “I knew that was gonna happen.”

At the end of the clip, as the camera panned back to Shant and her partner, the content creator was seen trying to smile, as a woman lent into her shoulder to give her a hug.

The boy mum claimed that her gender reveal was “ruined” as she later penned: “Lucky it’s the second.”

Ste Hamilton

Wealthy property tycoon and YouTuber Ste Hamilton decided to gift his wife-to-be Isabella Rowles with a £300,000 Lamborghini, which would be in either pink or blue to reflect their baby's gender.

Steven and Isabella and friends and family attended an extravagant event at the Belfry Hotel and Resort near Birmingham to find out they were having a baby boy.

"It was worth every second of the hard work to see the happiness in everyone's faces on the day," Ste said, after spending a further £40,000 on the big reveal.

Logan Paul

The wrestling star and YouTuber and fiancee Nina Agdal staged a public wrestling match for their gender reveal.

A wrestler in pink trunks took on one in blue, with the one in pink emerging victorious - signifying that they are having a baby girl.

Inga Stumbriene

The Lithuanian influencer hired planes to fly in the sky as she, her fiance and their nearest and dearest watched.

The planes dropped a load of blue confetti - revealing the pair were having a boy - but people insisted it was the "most polluted" gender reveal ever.

Anonymous couple

One of the most recent jaw-dropping gender reveals happened in May 2024, when a couple decided to DYE a waterfall to reveal if they were having a boy or girl.

After the videos circulated on the social media, the public demanded for the couple to be punished, with some suggesting they should go to jail.

Others were concerned about water contamination, as the pair had used a powdered chemical known as "Blue Lagoon" into the Queima-Pe River, which feeds the waterfall.

A third commented: “I would've cried and kicked her out.”

Whilst someone else claimed: “These are 100% not easy to pop.. she did it on purpose.”

We popped them anyway! It was our second child and we wanted more people to be involved

Shant

In a follow-up clip, Shant confirmed that despite her mother-in-law confirming that the couple were expecting another boy, they went ahead and used the cannons anyway.

As the guests counted ‘1, 2, 3’, the parents popped their cannons, releasing blue confetti all over the room, sending the guests into a frenzy.

The struggle of choosing a baby name

CHLOE Morgan, a Senior Writer at Fabulous, has revealed her dilemma on choosing a baby name...

At 35 weeks pregnant, by far the trickiest part of pregnancy for me in the past few months (minus the insomnia and countless night-time wee breaks!) has been trying to decide on a baby name.

The dilemmas are endless...

My partner and I went for a private scan to find out the gender as early as we could - partly due to the fact we thought it would make baby naming so much easier because we'd only have to come up with a list of names for one gender rather than two.

How wrong we were...

I was absolutely thrilled to be told I was expecting the baby girl I'd already dreamed of, but being one of the last of my friends to fall pregnant, I've had countless conversations over the years with excited pals discussing their top baby names...something which I wish I could go back in time and un-hear.

With each friend mentioning at least 10 possible monikers, I can't help but feel like several are now a no-go even though I know it's something that none of them would mind in the slightest - it's a total me problem!

The debate comes up time and time again on social media forums - can you choose the same name that was a "potential" for a friend's baby?

It's a very divisive topic and opinions are always mixed...and I don't want to be THAT person.

While some will argue there's thousands of other names out there to choose from, others will say you need to choose YOUR favourite...after all, there's no guarantee that person will even have another baby.

Then there's also the issue of finding a name you adore...only to research it online and read one negative comment amongst hundreds of positives that you just can't shake off.

I made that very mistake when I fell in love with a certain name (I won't reveal it because I don't want to ruin it for others!) ...only to see someone point out that it constantly gets autocorrected on a phone to something rather rude instead.

So, back to the drawing board we went..

Just five weeks to go and it looks like our little one is going to be known as 'baby gal' for a little while longer!
