AFFAIR ARREARS

I’m cheating on my husband – 300-mile round trip to see my lover costs me a fortune, but I can’t give him up

A CHEATING wife has told how she’s struggling to afford the fuel she needs to cross the border every week to meet her lover.

Emily, 42, from Glasgow, regularly drives three hours for romps in Newcastle.

She felt that it’s less likely somebody would spot her infidelity if she travelled further afield.

But now it’s presenting a new set of problems she never planned for.

Emily, who met her lover on IllicitEncounters, says: “It’s costing a lot and fuel isn’t cheap.

“The guy I’m seeing pays for everything when we’re together so it sort of evens out but obviously I’m travelling a long distance just to see him as he doesn’t drive.

“It’s not just sex or even about sex. We go for lunch and walks, which are stuff me and my husband used to do when we first met but that stopped a long time ago.

“So the temptation of being treated well and seeing my lover is there all the time.

“I’ve never been so confused. I still love my husband and I’d love for that to work but for the first time in a lot of years I feel confident and excited.

“I know the long travel can’t last much longer and I need to decide.”

She adds: “My friends have been picking up on my mood for a long while, a lot of asking if I’m okay and if everything alright in my relationship.

“Their comments hit home and I admit to myself I’ve not been happy for well over a year.

“I’ve met other blokes on nights out with the girls before and enjoyed their company but never had an affair.

“I’ve been with my husband seven years but things have been tough in the past 18 month

“I work from home most of the time, so I can sneak out during the day and be on email on my phone but it’s starting to become a big commitment and I’m not sure how I can keep it going.

“In one way I don’t feel like I’ll get caught as I’m meeting him in Newcastle and it’s unlikely I’m going to bump into anyone I know.

“But I should be at home working so it does feel risky.

“Me and my husband have separate cars but obviously my mileage jumping up is a bit of a concern.”
