RECENTLY we have seen more and more celebs ditch rainy England for lavish trips to the Maldives.
Not only did Molly-Mae soak up the sun with her family, but Billie Faiers, Charlotte Crosby and David Walliams were all there for the holiday season too.

But while many of us expect the beautiful island to have soft, sandy beaches and beautiful turquoise waters, it turns out that if you do the holiday destination on a budget, or out of season, it might not be as glamorous as you expect.
Many have taken to social media to show off their failed trips to the Maldives - from beaches that look a state, to endless days of torrential rain.
One couple, Oskar and Dan, explained that they couldn’t afford the £10k a night trip that Molly-Mae, Tommy Fury and their daughter Bambi recently went on, so instead they decided to do the island on a budget.
However, the pair were horrified when they arrived to dirty beaches with plastic chairs fallen everywhere, sand covered in rubble and green mess in the water.
Posting on social media under the username @oskaranddan, the couple shared their travel fail and explained: “When you try to do the Maldives on a budget and end up with this.”
We then saw the boys, both of whom are from Sweden, share their expectations versus the reality of the sought-out-after island.
They wrote “what we found” as they filmed the messy beach and dirty sea water.
Not only this, but many others have complained that whilst they expected clear skies and sunshine, when they visited the island, it was nothing but wind and rain.

Another couple, Terence and Karen, are fans of ‘luxury travel’, but were left in hysterics when they took a trip to the island in winter.
Posting online under the username @terplanet, the pair revealed what happened when they went to the Maldives in October.
They claimed that people said to them, “go to Maldives in October, [the] weather will be perfect”.
However, upon arriving, they quickly realised that they had made a mistake.
As Karen stepped out of her villa and headed towards her very own private pool, she showed the rain downpour, as she was left in hysterics at the ‘fail’.
Not only this, but another woman, named Lilly Lou, who posts on social media under the username @loulijia, has clearly left many totally stunned, as she warned people of the mistake you mustn’t make when visiting the Maldives.
She advised: “Here’s a common mistake tourists make when they travel to the Maldives.
“A lot of people assume the Maldives to be sunny all year round, but that’s not true, so let me educate you.
“The Maldives has a tropical climate, with two main seasons - a dry season from December to April, and a wet season from May to November.
“So if you’re someone who wants to enjoy sunshine, calm seas and clear skies, then the dry season is the best time to visit.
“Now, if you’re looking for a more affordable trip and don’t mind the occasional shower, then the wet season from May to November may be a good option.”
We then saw Lilly wearing a raincoat as she was battered by a heavy storm, as she continued: “During this time you may face heavy rainfall and the chances for cancellations of seaplane transfers and excursion bookings will be high.”
TikTok users were left open-mouthed at the holiday blunders and were eager to express this.
One person said: “I'd be gutted. The Maldives is on my bucket list.”
Another added: “Yeah the resort islands are just the manicured version. Appreciate the realism.”
A third commented: “It does rain a lot in Maldives it would seem. Going in December probably didn't help things though.”
