Sprite launches new ‘must try’ flavor but with a twist – and fans are left guessing about its ‘cooling sensation’

Coca-Cola launched a new flavor variation only two months earlier

SPRITE has announced a new flavor with a twist, but fans are unsure how it will taste.

The Coca-Cola-owned beverage brand unveiled the addition at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) trade show at the end of last year.

Since then, fans have been waiting anxiously to try what the company calls Sprite Chill, per a post on Facebook from influencer Snackolator.

"Sprite Chill is coming to stores and is definitely a must-try of the new sodas!" they wrote.

The prominent foodie noted that the Chill flavor came in a Cherry Lime variation, making them question the "cooling sensation" promotion.

It could mean the soda has a crisp quality similar to a minty finish.

"I am still not sure what the Chill part is [—] whether it's cooling sensation, taste, or just marketing," they wrote.

Snackolator added that the flavor also seemingly comes in a zero-sugar version.

They claimed some stores already have Sprite Chill in stock, but it's unclear if the flavor has been officially released.

Other food influencers like SnackBetch have claimed it's already happened, per Allrecipes.

The U.S. Sun has contacted Sprite for a release date confirmation.

Despite the vagueness about where and when fans can get Sprite Chill, many are eager to try it as soon as possible.

"Heck yes cherry lime one of my favorite flavors," someone commented on Snackolator's post.

"This is gonna be so good!!" another exclaimed.

"I wanna try," a third added.

Sprite Chill is at least the second major innovation from Coca-Cola this year.

SPICING IT UP

As The U.S. Sun previously reported, Coca-Cola Spiced hit shelves on February 19.

Fans who bought the new flavor would supposedly find that it "offers a unique alchemy of our iconic cola, raspberry, and spiced flavors," per a description on the company's website.

"It's Coca-Cola, only spiced. Coca-Cola Spiced transforms the familiar into the extraordinary," it teased.

Coca-Cola also called it an "uplifting taste experience."

Similar to Sprite Chill, the drink also comes in a zero-sugar option.

The spices weren't specifically identified due to Coca-Cola's intent to protect its recipes, according to the Associated Press.

It's the first time a Coca-Cola variation was added in at least three years.

Now, customers can get Coca-Cola Spiced along with Coke Vanilla, Cherry Vanilla, and classic Coke.
