A BELOVED chain restaurant will close all its locations today, even after opening two brand-new branches.
Boxer Ramen in Portland, Oregon shared a heartfelt message with customers and explained the reason for the unexpected change.

The chain will lose its four restaurants on April 29 after 11 years in operation.
Boxer Ramen had three spots in the Portland metro area and one branch in Beaverton.
Two of these spots were opened this year, with the Multnomah Village hitting the scene in January, and its Cedar Hills outlet opened in December, according to Willamette Week.
The small chain shared a message to its customers on Instagram, that blamed several factors for the closure.

“It is with a very heavy heart we announce that after 11 years of serving you our unique brand of Ramen, we sadly will be closing all of our doors for good this upcoming Monday the 29th,” the post said.
“The incredible challenges that we all faced as a community during the pandemic, compounded by inflated costs of goods and services, have not only profoundly affected our restaurant, but all of us and our communities as a whole.”
Boxer Ramen encouraged its fans to visit one of the locations for the last time this weekend for a meal.
“But most of all, we would love to just say goodbye to all of you that we grew up with over the last 11 years,” the post added.

Boxer Ramen’s parent company, MMMco., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on February 8.

The company’s owner, Micah Camden, reported that Boxer Ramen was doing well and the chain was ready to release an updated menu.
This has made the closures particularly unexpected and sudden.
The chain has also filed for bankruptcy for its burger restaurant chain named SuperDeluxe.

- Mod Pizza: Bosses dramatically shuttered 27 shops, including in the state of California.
- Frisch's Big Boy: Restaurant chiefs confirmed the closure of a restaurant in Covington, Kentucky.
- Two Bucks: Four restaurants in Ohio are set to close.
- Chili's: A restaurant in Port Arthur, Texas, has shut permanently.
- Friendly's: Bosses confirmed an establishment in Ronkonkoma, Long Island will close.
- Pizza Hut: A restaurant in Glen Falls, New York, closed at the end of March.
- Denny's: Two restaurants in Boise and Nampa, Idaho, have closed.
- Carl's Jr.: The first Boise, Idaho location has closed.
- Italian Eatery: A restaurant and street food spot is expected to close between late May and mid-June
