The chain has locations in Lancaster, Mount Joy, and Lititz with its first location opening four years ago.

"Today is a very sad day for our Frisco's Chick family and we have to close our doors," a notice posted on the door of the restaurants told customers on Friday.

The Peruvian-style eatery said the closures are the result of "the ever-increasing cost of goods and a steep decline in sales."

These factors have "made it impossible to continue serving you," the note explained.

"My heart is broken, about my staff, about my family, and you, our beloved customers," Francisco Gomez De La Torre, the owner of Frisco's wrote.

De La Torre confirmed in a Facebook post that the restaurants will remain open until all of the stock has gone thanks to the efforts of staff.

"Although we have elected to close, a group of our team has refused to stop working and will be selling through our inventory until it is gone at our Lancaster and Mount Joy locations," Gomez said.

He added that all sales from this leftover inventory will be cash only with all money going to staff.

"We cannot thank you all for the love and support along our journey," he said, noting that he has a "heavy heart" about the permanent closures.

Fans of the chain were left stunned by the news, sharing their shock in the comments below the Facebook post.
