Walmart customers slam new store layout saying it ‘doesn’t make sense’ – and aisles now ‘nightmare to navigate’
WALMART is in the midst of renovating nearly 1,000 stores, and customers aren't fond of the new layout.
CEO Doug McMillon revealed 926 Walmart stores would be remodeled by the beginning of next year.
Stores will have new layouts that are meant to streamline the shopping process.
The renovations focus on giving customers more space to shop, but some have struggled to adjust to the changes.
Vi Qu, a regular at a Walmart in Salisbury, Maryland, said the aisles were always different due to construction.
On three trips to buy toilet paper, they found it in a different place each time, they wrote in a Facebook post.

They said they must "hunt" for items, especially in the beauty and hygiene aisles, which have become "nightmares to navigate."
"The layout doesn't make sense anymore," they said.
"It just doesn't flow well anymore, and instead of having categories together, it seems randomized."
They were so frustrated with the renovations that they considered driving to the other side of town.

In the comments, many locals shared similar concerns. One shopper said the Walmart store was "sloppy and chaotic" since the renovation.
Customers said the nearby location in Fruitland had also been renovated recently and saw similar confusion.
"Fruitland's renovation is done, but it's worse than before. Aisles are much smaller and carry less products/options," commented one shopper.
"Both are worse since renovating."
Others agreed the stores were more complicated after the renovations.
MAJOR MAKEOVER
Walmart locations are being updated with new designs, including furniture showrooms and the latest technology.
Shoppers will be able to use Walmart Pay, the retailer's new touchless payment app.
“We opened the store up,” said John Furner, the company’s US CEO.
“We're really proud of the results in apparel and home and beauty.”
These changes come after the store saw a wave of closures.
Most recently, Walmart closed two stores in Georgia on July 12. One was in Dunwoody, and the other was in Marietta.
"This decision was not made lightly and was reached only after a careful and thoughtful review process," Walmart shared in a press release.
"We have nearly 5,000 stores across the U.S., and unfortunately, some do not meet our financial expectations.
"While our underlying business is strong, this store hasn’t performed as well as we hoped."
Walmart also closed its stores in Wisconsin, California, Colorado, Maryland, and Ohio.
