‘Absolutely disgusting,’ drivers complain after Lincoln redesigns its flagship car – riders hate the ‘light bar’

We break down the car's latest features – and what it will cost you

LINCOLN has unveiled a dramatic new look for its 2025 Navigator - but not everyone is a fan.

The luxury SUV, being promoted by none other than Matthew McConaughey, was revealed on Thursday, complete with a host of updates.

However, not everyone is thrilled with the luxury SUV's new look.

"Are you a fan of the redesigned Navigator?" Edmunds Cars asked its Instagram followers.

"No way! That's horrendous lmao," one user shared.

"What an uninspiring exterior. America just won’t give up 'big = luxurious,'" another user commented.

"That ain't it chief," another follower added.

"That rear end is absolutely disgusting they did not have to force the light bar," one user shared.

"I'm confused about this one," another follower wrote.

Some car aficionados said that there are no "good looking" American cars on the market right now.

"There isn’t one good looking American car right now. The 40s-60s cars are crying in their graves… what a travesty," one user exclaimed.

"Holy hideous," one user chimed in.

"I really wish car makers stopped with the screens man. That doesn't prove luxury," another added, with a few fellow car buffs agreeing.

"Lincoln should disintegrate back into the earth. No one wants to buy that brand. Get a clue Ford," another user complained.

The vehicle also includes new sheet metal, including on its front and rear fenders, hood and tailgate.

Cars being discontinued for 2025

According to Motor1, there are 20 cars that won't make it to the 2025 model year, including sedans, some SUVs, and sports cars.

Cars that are on the chopping block for next year are:

  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio (sedan)
  • Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (SUV)
  • Audi A4 (sedan)
  • Audi A5 Coupe/Cabrio (2-door sedan)
  • BMW X3M (SUV)
  • Bugatti Chiron

The 2025 model adopted a new drop-down lower tailgate and an upper lift gate, both of which come with hands-free power operation.

Both elements, or one or the other, can be set to automatically open upon approach.

The lower section, which supports up to 500 pounds, also makes it an ideal fit for tailgating, drive-ins, and more.

Inside, a giant 48" panoramic display is the focal point of the dashboard, providing a stunning blend of technological savvy into a classic car.

The curved display, drawing inspiration from the Nautilus, is divided into sections, including ones for the driver and front seat passenger.

When parked, videos and games can be shown in a widescreen format.

Just below the panoramic display lies a smaller, more user-friendly 11.1-inch vertical display touchscreen, within reach of both the driver's and passenger's seats.

Nearly everything is operated with just a touch, from audio functions and climate controls to ambient lighting and in select versions, even massage elements.

Buyers can choose from three color-and-trim themes: Invitation, Enlighten, and Atmospheric, which features blacked out wheels or copper exterior accents.

The 2025 Lincoln Navigator can comfortably fit up to eight passengers, while 14 USB ports throughout the cabin make charging multiple devices a breeze.

Coupled with heated, adjustable seating throughout, the newest model SUV reimagines group drives into a luxurious retreat.

According to the Edmunds Cars Instagram, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator doesn't appear to have evolved too much under the hood, however.

The 3.5-liter V6 sports redesigned twin turbos, but it continues to max out at "440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, carryover figures from the prior model."

The updated Navigator won't hit the market until next spring, but Lincoln dealers will reportedly start taking orders for the new model starting in October.

Pricing hasn't been announced, though some reports are coming in that an entry-level model will set buyers back just under or at $100,000.
