One person called Pavlos a "pirate prince" after seeing his new look

CROWN Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece was spotted hailing in a cab on Friday amid concerns for her husband's health.

The British-born heiress and fashion designer, 55, was bundled up in a winter coat, holding her purse as she was seen coming out of a yellow taxi cab in New York City.

Her blonde hair was covered with a white beanie, completing the look with leggings and a pair of trainers.

The outing came just weeks after Marie-Chantal posted a photo of her husband, Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece wearing an eye patch.

"Hopefully a temporary new look but he's kind of cute," the caption read.

Concerns were raised over Pavlos' health as no explanation was offered.

"Speedy recovery!" wrote one person.

"Always cute! We hope it heals soon," wrote another.

The couple attended the 2023 British Fashion Awards and the Crown Prince was still wearing the eye patch.

Pavlos briefly explained his condition on social media, saying that he had retinal detachment surgery.

"Thank you very much for your kind interest and wishes!" he said.

"The surgery was successful but I am not allowed to travel for some time. Wishing everyone a happy holiday season."

The Crown Prince is expected to complete his recovery from his home in New York that he shares with Marie-Chantal and their children Olympia, Constantine, Achilles, Odysseus, and Aristides Stavros.

The pair married in 1995 but despite Pavlos being Greece's crown prince, he will never take the throne.

Greece's monarchy was deposed and scrapped in 1973.

Pavlos also vowed to not interfere in state affairs after the death of his father, King Constantine, in January 2023.

He met Marie-Chantal, who creates children's wear for her brand 'Marie-Chantal,' on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.

"We clicked," Marie-Chantal told Vanity Fair in 2008.

"It was love at first sight. I knew that he was the person I would marry."
