DEFIANT Americans have declared that it's time for "evil" Joe Biden "to go" on a stormy second day at CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference, in Washington DC.

Thousands of grassroots Republicans - most of them die-hard Donald Trump supporters - have descended on the Capitol for a series of debates, talks, and speeches.

Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss was among those sticking the boot into Biden - slamming the 81-year-old Commander-in-Chief for being "asleep at the wheel" in office, and making the world less safe in the process.

And Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, delighted the crowd when she told attendees, "It's always darkest before the Don, that's D.O.N."

The 41-year-old spouse of Eric Trump told the crowd, "It's time for us to take back our country," as she called on Republicans to "fight fire with dynamite" in the upcoming election.

She called for Republicans to adapt their voting tactics and turn to early voting to "compete" with the Democrats - a stark contrast from what Trump's former White House Chief of Staff Steve Bannon told CPAC on Wednesday.

Admitting that the Trumps had been "naive" in 2015 about the political realities of the US, she said, "I believe that Donald Trump was made for such a time as this."

Outside the enormous Potomac Ballroom, an array of colorful guests mingled in the corridors.

Many wore T-shirts or outfits bedecked with political slogans and badges, with one man dressed as the infamous US-Mexico border wall.

But away from the sometimes light-hearted fancy dress, many Americans expressed their fears to The U.S. Sun at the thought of another four years of Joe Biden in the White House.

Suzzanne Monk, describing herself as a "rare conservative" in DC, said Biden was now little more than a source of "comic relief," pointing to infamous gaffes involving tripping on the Air Force One stairs and falling off his bike.

"It would be funnier if [we] weren't standing on the brink of WW3," she said, her cheery smile disappearing from her face.

"I enjoy a laugh now and then, but the consequences are dire."

Singer Natasha Owens from Texas, dressed resplendently in a dress promoting her new pro-gun rights single "The Second Protects the First," had a similar message for Biden.

"You've had a good run in politics," she said, addressing the President.

"You just need to sit down and let the younger ones run it."

With Biden and Trump's combined ages of 158, November's Presidential Election looks set to be the oldest in American history, smashing the previous record the pair set back in 2020.

Also on the line for many voters is how Trump's foreign policy would differ from Biden's - in the face of major issues including the Israel-Palestine crisis and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Alexandra Levine, a female Jewish voter from Sarasota, Florida, called out what she described as soaring anti-Semitism in the United States under Biden.

Her message to Biden was a simple one: "Back the heck off," as she branded his infamous alleged comments describing Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu as a "f**king a**hole as "so disrespectful to America's biggest ally."

On day one of CPAC on Wednesday, Steve Bannon described how MAGA could "rule the US for 50 years" if it secured a majority of the Black vote.

John Thorman is a Republican running for Congress in Maryland's second congressional district covering Baltimore County, which is around 30 percent Black.

A self-described "Washington outsider" running in a city that has been under Democrat control for over a century, he called for Republicans to emphasize the economy and the struggles of the middle class to persuade voters in the blue stronghold to switch.

Baltimore saw 262 murders last year, a rate more than eight times higher than the national average.

"The Dems have lied to voters," he said. "The situation in Baltimore is the result of their policies."

"We need common-sense strategies to empower business and the middle class," said Los Angeles-based singer Justin Holley.

"People can't move the way they need to move to provide for their families."

Justin, who also works in real estate and construction, said he was in DC to challenge the "Democrat narrative," that Black males don't vote for Trump.

"I'm not an African American, I'm American-American," he said, dressed in a jacket bedecked with stars and stripes.

"We want to help our families out. Unleash us and let us do what we need to do."

The overwhelming issue among attendees - outside of the big MAGA talking point about the border crisis - was, to return to Bill Clinton's line in 1992, "It's the economy, stupid."

"Everything has changed for the worse," grumbled Edward X Young, a horror movie actor from New Jersey at CPAC for the first time.

"I truly believe this nation is dying."

Comparing CPAC to a family or high school reunion, he decried the current state of the US as "worse than Watergate, worse than Vietnam."

Denouncing Biden as "evil and stupid," he added, "People pity him because he's old and senile. There's not one damn thing I can say about Biden that's good.

"At least Obama was smart and suave."

Wearing the iconic "Make America Great Again" hat, he said that he had a separate "Keep America Great" hat that he was hoping to bring out of his closet again when Trump won.

So what would he have Trump do differently the second time around?

He paused, smiled, and said, "This time, no more Mr Nice Guy."
