A CVS location announced it would close after 30 years, making it the fifth store to shutter in a single area.
The company revealed that a store in Broome County, Rhode Island would be added to a long list of locations closing.
Employees of the pharmacy confirmed that the store at 50 Pennsylvania Avenue is expected to close on May 21.
Staffers were made aware of the closing last Saturday, reported WNBF.
CVS spokesperson Amy Thibault told the radio station that all prescriptions from the pharmacy will be transferred to another CVS location at 249 Main Street.
The pharmacy opened nearly 30 years ago and stands next to a Weis supermarket.

A worker told the radio station that the CVS was closing for "a multitude of reasons."
When asked if shoplifting had been one of the reasons for the closure, the worker said it was a factor.
Employees at other Broome County stores said that shoplifting has been a driving factor to store closures in the area.

However, Thibault said in an email that "shoplifting was not a factor in our decision."
She named several other factors for the closure.
In November 2021, a CVS pharmacy in downtown Binghamton at 34 Court Street closed its doors.
Another location at 345 Main Street in Johnson City was also shut down in May 2022.
Thibault wouldn't say if any other locations were on the chopping block, writing in an email: "We don't provide lists of store closures."
