Newly released bodycam footage showed the moment the detainee propositioned Hair for sex after she was arrested, in August 2023.

The suspect, who has not been named, was first heard asking the officer if he was married, according to The New York Post.

“You’re not too bad. What’s it gonna hurt me if I work the system, you know what I mean? That’s the way I see s**t,” she said.

“Are you single?” she added.

“Yeah, but you’re not,” Hair was heard saying in response.

She was then heard asking him about an illicit act.

“I’m down to f**k right now,” she said before the officer stopped her.

“Don’t say that right now,” he said.

“Don’t say that right now because everything is being recorded right now.”

This footage later appeared to show the officer asking the detainee what she was doing in the backseat.

The car then stopped on a residential street before Hair’s bodycam turned off at 1:34 am, according to CBS affiliate KFMB-TV.

Hair was reported to have called another police officer around 20 minutes after his car had stopped and asked for a master key for his car.

This officer recalled the embarrassing turn of events.

“I asked him if he was okay. He said yes, and then asked if I had my patrol car key with me … I asked why he was asking and what did he need,” the officer said.

“Officer Hair then asked me if I could go meet him.”

“I asked him why he needed me, and he said he would tell me when I got there,” he added.

“He said he was really embarrassed.”

This officer eventually arrived at the scene over an hour after the car stopped,” at 2:40 am.

The woman had reportedly been arrested on suspicion of car theft and also had a bench warrant out for her arrest, according to The New York Post.

Hair had been asked to take the suspect to the Las Colinas Detention Center in Santee before the incident occurred.

The detainee and Hair have denied any wrongdoing.

Hair had been with the police department for two years before he resigned a month after an investigation was launched into the event.

The officer reportedly told investigators he believed the woman was dealing with a medical emergency and said he was “checking” on her.

“When I was waking her up, that’s when I noticed that this door closed on me. That’s when I was trying to kind of open the door,” he said in the footage.

Investigators said the San Diego Police Department had found traces of semen on Hair’s belt, according to KRMB-TV.

It is not known if the officer has faced any criminal charges over the situation.
