The two men then began fighting as pupils from Thorpe St Andrew High School in Norwich looked on from the parked bus.

One said: "To be fair the other guy did pull out in front of him."

Other boys laughed and were heard shouting "they're having a scrap", "he's going to get the sack" and "oh my god, Ken's got him".

Mobile phone footage appeared to show the man in the grey t-shirt throwing the first punch, instigating the violence.

The school bus driver, said to be named Ken, then fought back.

He managed to wrestle the other driver to the ground, and at one point appeared to help him back up.

But when the car driver got up he continued shouting abuse at the bus driver.

The bus driver is reported to be a contractor and did not work directly for Thorpe St Andrew High.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk County Council said: “We are aware of an incident involving a school transport operator today.

"We are investigating with the operator and will deal with the incident appropriately."
