RICHARD Allen is set to go to trial for the murders of Libby German and Abby Williams.

The pharmacy technician is accused of killing the teenage girls in what has been dubbed the Delphi murders.

Who is Delphi murders suspect Richard Allen?

Richard Allen is at the centre accused of the Delphi murders which took place in 2017.

At the time of the murders, Allen would have been 44 years old and is now 50 as of August 2024.

He is a local resident of Delphi and is married to his wife Kathy with the pair sharing an adult daughter.

Allen worked as a pharmacy technician - receiving his most recent pharmaceutical licence in February 2018 which was one year on from the murders.

When he was arrested, he was working at the local CVS store which meant he often came into contact with members of the public.

CVS released the following statement after the arrest: "As members of the Carroll County community, we remain devastated by these murders and our hearts go out to the German and Williams families.

"We are shocked and saddened to learn that one of our store employees was arrested as a suspect in these crimes. We stand ready to cooperate with the police investigation in any way we can."

Before his arrest on suspicion of double homicide, Allen appears to have no prior criminal record however, the Carroll County Jail record lists him as also going by the alias of Craigh Ross Rentfrow.

Allen has pleaded not guilty in response to criminal charges.

Where did the Delphi murders take place?

The murders took place in the small town of Delphi in Indiana which is a close knit town with around 3,000 residents.

Allen's family home is less than a five minute drive from where the bodies of Libby and Abby were found.

He lived in a neighborhood southwest of the Monon High Bridge.

According to online records, Allen has lived in Delphi since at least 2006, and in Indiana his whole adult life.

Libby’s grandfather told reporters after a press conference on 31 October, 2022 that his granddaughter’s accused killer had been “hiding in plain sight” the whole time.

He said: “As [Indiana State Police Supt] Doug Carter said that earlier, if you recall. He said he’s hiding in plain sight.

“And that’s the case. Didn’t know, I don’t know the gentleman personally at all. I’ve probably seen him. It’s a small county. But definitely I don’t know him.”

Who were Delphi murder victims Abigail Williams and Liberty German?

Abigail Williams and Libby German were the victims of the Delphi murders and were 13 and 14 years old respectively.

The friends had gone on a hike the day they were killed.

On the day the girls went missing, Libby had posted photos on Snapchat of her and Abby walking along the trail.

The image of the two best friends is believed to be the last photo of them before they died.
