DONALD Trump is enraged and ready to fire some of his top campaign advisors as Kamala Harris rises in the polls, according to reports.

The former president is reportedly ready to make some cuts as Harris enjoys a honeymoon period during the first month of her campaign.

Trump's apparent meltdown has been prompted by his slide in the polls following Harris' recent increase in popularity.

"I think that he feels this election slipping away from him, and that's where you're beginning to see him spiral," Sarah Matthews, a former Trump spokesperson, told MSNBC.

Matthews was referencing a false claim Trump made that accused the Harris campaign of using images generated by artificial intelligence to exaggerate rally crowds.

Insiders say Republicans and key donors are concerned about Trump's campaign strategy.

It comes as...

  • Trump's big interview with Elon Musk on X faced technical difficulties and started 40 minutes late
  • Musk claimed it was the result of a massive cyberattack
  • Trump shocked fans by saying an image of Kamala Harris on the cover of Time Magazine resembled his wife
  • Trump warned the US would not survive a Harris presidency
  • A social media expert labeled the relationship between Trump and Musk a "marriage of convenience"
  • Trump confused listeners by appearing to have a lisp when speaking in the interview
  • The newfound alliance between Trump and Musk was formed last month when Musk endorsed the Republican nominee after he survived an assassination attempt

His continuous personal attacks against Harris, as well as his failure to focus on core policies such as the border, the economy, and crime, have reportedly worried those close to Trump.

Speaking on his The Rest is Politics podcast, former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci suggested Trump is ready for a leadership change.

"He picked Vance - he knows Vance was a terrible, terrible pick," he began.

"He's lighting people up inside his campaign right now about picking Vance."

What is REALLY going on with Trump’s ‘lisp’? Speech expert claims how ‘relaxed’ Donald let vocal tick slip in Musk chat

Scaramucci claimed Trump has been discussing parting ways with Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, two of his top campaign staffers.

"He has talked to people about firing Chris and Susie," Scaramucci said in the episode titled The Secret Behind Trump's Silence.

"And they're two very, extremely talented people. And boy if he does that, I think it would be a disaster."

Earlier in August in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, Scaramucci raised the possibility that Trump could even fire Vance.

"He'll say, 'Vance wasn't working for me. He didn't have the chops' and then he'll bring in Nikki Haley," Scaramucci said.

Scaramucci described how when things start going wrong, Trump starts firing people.

It seems that his apparent habit goes back to his days on the popular show The Apprentice, where his catchphrase was, "You're fired!"

Scaramucci pointed to August 2016, when Trump brought Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon on board.

More on Trump's campaign advisers

Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles are the pioneers behind Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. Take a look at their backgrounds below:

Chris LaCivita

  • Marine veteran of the Persian Gulf War
  • Worked on campaigns such as US Senator Ron Johnson's 2022 re-election campaign and Rand Paul's 2016 presidential campaign
  • Ran the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth campaign against John Kerry in 2004

Susie Wiles

  • Ran Mayors John Delany and John Peyton's campaigns
  • Worked as a staffer for Representative Jack Kemp and a scheduler for former President Ronald Reagan
  • Served as Delany's chief of staff while he was the mayor of Jacksonville, Florida

He "blew everybody out," Scaramucci said.

On the prospect of Trump getting rid of his current team, Scaramucci said, "I like Chris LaCivita. Susie, I don't know as well.

"But I will tell you something about the two of them. They've gotten Trump on message and they've gotten Trump very disciplined."

LaCivita and Wiles have been at the helm of Trump's campaign throughout his re-election bid.

LaCivita was a senior adviser to Senator Ron Johnson's re-election campaign in 2022 and Rand Paul's presidential campaign in 2016.

He also serves as a media advisor for Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

The organization ran a television ad questioning then-presidential candidate John Kerry's Vietnam service record.

The campaign strategy mirrors the Trump campaign's attacks on Harris' running mate Tim Walz for leaving the military before the Iraq War.

LaCivita has taken a more front-facing role in the campaign while Wiles steers clear of the limelight.

Wiles is credited for lining up congressional endorsements for Trump early in 2023.

USA Today previously talked to 20 people who knew Wiles closely and described her as a "savvy political operator."

She's one of the longest-serving aides on the Trump campaign.

LYING LOW

Sources close to Trump have reported that he is lying low in Mar-a-Lago.

These reports suggest that Trump is concerned about his opponent's rise in the polls.

Trump was riding high after he survived the assassination attempt against him at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

But since Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race and Harris began her campaign, Trump's position in the polls has waned.

The U.S. has reached out to Trump's team for a comment.

Trump's main policy points

DONALD Trump closed the Republican National Convention on July 18, telling supporters he wanted to become president for "all Americans.

  • Implementing tax cuts, including no tax on tips
  • Protecting Social Security and Medicare - Trump said 'incomes will skyrocket and the middle class will prosper like never before'
  • Protecting borders - He pledged to end the 'border nightmare.' That means two things on day one - 'Drill baby Drill,' as he said, and close the borders
  • Finishing building the wall
  • Keeping our 'sons and daughters safe'
  • Replenishing the military and building a military 'dome' - Trump insisted he could stop wars with just a phone call and said no military would be able to penetrate the USA if he came into office
  • Ending the war in Ukraine and imposing tariffs on Iran
  • Vowing to "beat" China
  • Working to decrease prices and ease inflation
  • Bringing down the cost of energy
  • Making cities 'safe, clean and beautiful' again
  • Making it possible for Americans to buy gas-run cars by ending the electric vehicle mandate on the first day of his presidency

HARRIS' PLAN

Harris has seemed to move away from some of Biden's less popular issues.

She hopes to focus on rising prices and wants to build a new focus on the worries of the middle class, Axios has reported.

Harris is expected to outline plans to lower the costs of healthcare, housing, and food for middle-class consumers at a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday.

She will also appear at an event tomorrow in Prince George's County, Maryland, with Biden.

The event will focus on lowering costs for Americans and will be Harris' first joint trip with Biden since he pulled out of the race.

Her emphasis on the cost of groceries is meant to show that she can relate to typical households more than Trump.

Harris wants to be seen as the change agent in the presidential race, reports have said.
