VICE Presidential nominee JD Vance's plane has made an emergency landing over a door malfunctioning, his spokesperson confirmed.

Senator Vance made an abrupt U-turn back to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, just one week after former President Donald Trump's plane was downed over a mechanical issue.

Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance was heading from Milwaukee to Cincinnati, Ohio when his plane experienced a door issue.

The Eastern Air-operated aircraft returned to Milwaukee International Airport around 1:30 pm on Friday, August 16, airport officials said, per local ABC affiliate WISN-TV.

The Boeing 737 charter plane landed normally and taxied without incident under its own power, the outlet continued.

"The pilot advised there was a malfunction with the door seal. After declaring an emergency, Trump Force Two returned to Milwaukee." Taylor Van Kirk, a spokeswoman for Senator Vance, told the publication.

"As soon as the issue was resolved, the plane returned to its originally planned flight path back to Cincinnati."

Trump Force Two is hard to miss, with a striking design featuring the US flag on the tail end of the aircraft.

It also includes Trump's signature slogan, Make America Great Again, on the side of the fuselage.

"Trump 47" is also written on the turbines, referencing his campaign for the 47th presidency.

Trump Force Two, now 22 years old, features an all-economy layout with 189 seats.

It's operated by Eastern Air Express, a subsidiary of Eastern Airlines, which caters to "underserved markets across the globe," according to its website.

The aircraft was cleared to depart at around 2:15 p.m., around 45 minutes after making the "emergency" landing.

Vance's wife, Usha, and dog, Atlas, were on board, with the trio traveling with several staff members and news reporters.

Vance was in Milwaukee to speak at the Milwaukee Police Association, according to NBC affiliate WTMJ-TV.

During the speech, he accused Vice President Kamala Harris of making police officers' jobs "harder."

JD VANCE VS TIM WALZ

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Senator JD Vance both had full lives before becoming politicians.

Walz and Vance both served in the military. Walz was in the Army National Guard for 24 years, and JD Vance was in the US Marine Corps for four years.

The veterans both share a love for Diet Mountain Dew.

However, Walz spent most of his early adulthood as a high school teacher and taught for one year in China after graduating college.

In 1999, he was the faculty advisor for the first ever Gay Straight Alliance at the high school he worked for.

Walz didn't foray into politics until 2004 when he volunteered for John Kerry's presidential campaign.

In 2006, he ran for Congress and beat incumbent Republican Gil Gutknecht. He served until 2019, when he was elected Minnesota's governor.

Vance, meanwhile, raised himself from a tumultuous childhood in Ohio and went to college after serving in the Marines.

After graduating from Ohio State University, he attended Yale Law School, where he started writing his bestselling memoir Hillbilly Elegy.

Vance briefly worked in politics before moving to the technology sector in California, where he met venture capitalist Peter Thiel.

In 2016, he published his book and became a household name in popular culture.

Vance, who was once staunchly anti-Donald Trump, ran for Senate on a pro-MAGA platform in 2022 and was elected with Trump's blessing.

He also slammed the current administration for spending "millions of dollars" on "people who shouldn't be here," rather than funding police departments and law enforcement personnel.

The Ohio senator's flight dilemma comes a week following Trump's plane made an emergency landing in Billings, Montana, due to a mechanical problem.

It was meant to land in Bozeman, where the presidential candidate had a rally at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse at Montana State University.

However, Trump had to change his route last minute and took a private plane to Billings, about two hours away, at around 4:30 pm on Friday, August 9.

"I know Montana. I was all over your state today," Trump told the crowd at the rally.

"Everything is two hours away. We went around the state and it was so beautiful. I said, 'How long will it be until we get there?'

"Two hours they said, everything's two hours. It's a big state, it's a beautiful state we love it."

Trump also slammed Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

He called Walz "freakish" while praising his running mate, Vance.

"By the way, JD Vance is doing a phenomenal job," the former president said.

"JD Vance is a real patriot. He's a United States Marine, he's a great guy," he continued.
