Natalie once said of her relationship with her husband: "We've been together 30 years now and I feel so lucky that we started as best friends."

She added to the Sydney Morning Herald in 2019: "We'd hang out a lot and he became as good a friend as any of my girlfriends.

"It's a great way to begin a marriage."

After embarking on romantic relationship, Andrew and Natalie moved to the US for a time for his work.

There, Natalie worked as a freelance producer for a number of TV stations.

Upon their return to Australia in 1995, Natalie landed a gig on Seven Network and she and Andrew married that same year.

When asked about the secret to her long-term love, Natalie said: "The secret to our relationship is talking.

"We talk a lot, all day, every day."

She added: "One of the top things for us has always been respect – to respect what the other wants to do.

"That's really important.

"Also, to give one another space and to talk about how you're feeling, where you want to go in life, and to be honest."
