Delphi murder suspect Richard Allen moved to new prison overnight after attorneys allege ‘killer’ was abused
DELPHI murder suspect Richard Allen has been moved to a new prison.
Court documents state that Allen was transferred to Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, Indiana.
Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita signed the order to move Allen on December 6.
“The Indiana Department of Correction anticipates continuity of services and care provided to Mr. Allen at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility,” the order said.
Allen is charged with two counts of murder stemming back to the 2017 deaths of Abby Williams and Libby German in Delphi.
Abby, 13, and Libby, 14, were found dead on February 14, 2017 along a historic railroad at the Delphi Historic Trails.

Their murder case remained in limbo for years until Allen was arrested in October of last year and charged with their murders.
Their cause of death wasn't revealed until June of this year when it was announced they were attacked with some sort of sharp object.
"Autopsies of the girls ruled their deaths as homicides and their wounds were caused by a sharp object," court documents said.
It has yet to be revealed exactly what kind of weapon was used.

Allen's defense attorneys, who are currently fighting to not be removed from the case, filed a motion in April for Allen to be moved out of Westville Correctional Facility.
They claimed that his mental and physical wellbeing had deteriorated during his prison time due to conditions “akin to that of a prisoner of war.”
The defense also claimed Allen was facing abuse from guards at Westville.
Special Judge Fran Gull declined the request to move Allen, saying he was treated "more favorably" than other inmates.
However, the denial didn't stop Allen's attorneys from continuing to call for his transfer.
With the Attorney General finally giving in and signing off on the transfer, Allen moved more than 200 miles from Westfield Correctional Facility in LaPorte County, Indiana to Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Sullivan County.
