And he has boasted of landing the most lucrative first-time movie role in history.

In a now-deleted post on X, he said: "What did you think of my acting debut movie trailer? Hell of a ride!

"I am now officially the highest-paid first-time actor of all time, on record, pipping Dwayne Johnson for the top spot. Incredible!"

Johnson - whose stage name The Rock stems from his WWE days - was paid $5.5million (£4.3m) for his role in 2001's The Mummy Returns.

And he even received a Guinness World Record for the feat.

The Rock also starred in a spin-off movie the following year, The Scorpion King to kick-start his acting career, that has now seen him star in 46 movies in 23 years.

McGregor was probed on his record-breaking acting cheque when promoting Road House on Good Morning Britain.

And he said: "That’s the fact, the highest paid first time actor of all time so it’s a nice feather in the cap.

"There’s not an action star in Hollywood that could take me on and that’s a fact, so let’s see how it goes."

McGregor has amassed over a £250million fortune in and out of fighting.

Like with Road House, in 2017 the Dubliner put his MMA career on hold for a new venture, swapping the cage for the boxing ring.

Conor McGregor’s glam life

He faced American legend Floyd Mayweather, losing in ten rounds but pocketing around £80m in the process.

In 2021, he sold the majority stake in his Proper No. Twelve whiskey for an estimated $150million (£120m).

His last two UFC bouts - both losses to Dustin Poirier - banked McGregor $50m (£40m) combined.

But he has not fought since July 2021 when he brutally broke his leg in the first round against Poirier, 35.

McGregor, 35, has been lined up to face Michael Chandler, 37, but talks with the UFC have dragged on.

Conor McGregor on X

It has led the former two-weight champion to grow publicly frustrated as he pleaded to return on June 29.

McGregor said: "We'll still in the first quarter of this year, talks are ongoing it's a little bit of lack of transparency.

"I've got two fights left on my contract, I don't think either of us know what the move will be.

"I just wish to get a bit more consistency with my training. Am I flat out right now? No. But I have been.

"I was scheduling for early this year, I was scheduling for January, for December even before that.

"I had camps set up, I had a camp out in Cannes in the South of France. I had a camp in Dubai also, some world champions with me.

"I put in a solid camp and I was well ready and then you get lack of transparency, it's like you've just got left unseen."
