While appearing on Up & Adams, Freeney explained to Kay Adams that Jordan is like his "big brother."

"I'm a member at The Grove, and The Grove is Michael Jordan's golf course," Freeney said.

"I've known Michael for years, since 2003 through the game of golf. Yea, that's my big bro, that's my big brother.

"We play a lot of golf together, and he's been through the ups and downs of my football career and my golf career now.

"It was great for him to be there, obviously it being his course.:

Freeney said Jordan was the one who set up the Hall of Fame surprise, luring him to the course saying he wanted him in a photoshoot.

"He actually is the one who set me up," Freeney explained.

"The rules for his course is pretty simple. Just show up, wear a t shirt and shorts, whatever you want there's no rules.

"A lot of golf courses have all these rules. Tuck in your shirt, you have to wear a button up, not this type of shorts, no music.

"His course is really relaxed. Just show up, just don't be a jerk, alright? If a guy wants to play through you, let him through. That's like the only rule at his course.

Kay Adams breaks down in laughter and says 'I wasn't ready for that' after show guest makes Taylor Swift and refs remark

"So for me it's just t shirts and shorts every day, but this particular day he said 'Hey I have a photoshoot for The Grove,' and he wants me to be part of the photoshoot. He wanted me to dress up nice.

"So I throw on the shirt, throw on the shorts, make it look good and I open the door and Coach Dungy is there."

Freeney put together a long, successful career mostly with the Indianapolis Colts.

In 16 seasons, Freeney racked up 125.5 sacks and 47 forced fumbles. He compiled 350 total tackles as a defensive end.

His 125.5 sacks are good for 18th-most in history by any player.
