The PBWA Magic Johnson Award is given to a player who "best combines excellence on the court with cooperation and grace in dealing with the media and fans," per the organization.

Curry has been recognized for his approachable character again after receiving the honor in 2016.

Johnson, 64, sent a congratulatory message to the Warriors playmaker on X last week.

And he finished the post with a bizarre mention of the 10-time NBA All-Star's mom, Sonya.

The Magic Johnson Award was created in 2001.

It was named after the three-time NBA MVP because he was "consistently engaging, thoughtful and gracious with the media throughout his Hall of Fame career," according to the PBWA.

Magic became a successful businessman and sports owner after ending his athletic career.

In addition to his involvement with the Sparks, he has stakes in MLB's Los Angeles Dodgers, the MLS' Los Angeles FC, and the NFL's Washington Commanders.

New Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner was star-struck when he received a call from Johnson after signing with Washington.
