NBA legend Magic Johnson leaves fans divided with Steph Curry ‘mom’ remarks as fans gasp ‘you gotta chill’
NBA legend Magic Johnson has left fans baffled with an odd remark about Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry's mom.
The Los Angeles Lakers great recently congratulated Curry, 36, on winning the Professional Basketball Writers Association's (PBWA) award named after him.
The PBWA Magic Johnson Award is given to a player who "best combines excellence on the court with cooperation and grace in dealing with the media and fans," per the organization.
Curry has been recognized for his approachable character again after receiving the honor in 2016.
Johnson, 64, sent a congratulatory message to the Warriors playmaker on X last week.
And he finished the post with a bizarre mention of the 10-time NBA All-Star's mom, Sonya.

Magic became a successful businessman and sports owner after ending his athletic career.
In addition to his involvement with the Sparks, he has stakes in MLB's Los Angeles Dodgers, the MLS' Los Angeles FC, and the NFL's Washington Commanders.
