Green Bay opened training camp on Monday as the team's players took in a practice in preparation for the 2024 campaign.

However, the Packers' general manager, Brian Gutekunst, told reporters that Love didn't appear at the training camp and wouldn't practice until he received a long-term contract extension.

Love is playing in the last year of his rookie deal, making $22.5 million in 2024.

Gutekunst revealed that he thinks the two sides were "close" on a deal," and that Love is still close to the team in Green Bay.

Still, NFL fans believe that the soon-to-be fifth-year player doesn't deserve a contract because he played just one full year in the NFL and that drama could be brewing between him and the Packers.

"Bro already a diva after one good year," one commented.

"Crazy how dude had one good season and he's acting like this," another added.

"Drama in Green Bay!" a third stated.

Love can receive a $50 million-per-year contract, as Trevor Lawrence and Jared Goff recently reached deals that will pay them $53 million per season.

The Packers quarterback sat behind Aaron Rodgers in the first three years of his career.

Love was given the starting role last season and hasn't looked back.

He threw for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns, along with just 11 interceptions.

Love also guided the Packers to a playoff berth and a win over the Dallas Cowboys during Super Wild Card Weekend.

In that game, the Utah State product threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns.

Love and the Packers would lose to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game.

He isn't the only quarterback who covets a new deal.

Tua Tagovailoa and Dak Prescott are also pursuing new contracts.

Green Bay spent money on the other side of the ball over the weekend, extending defensive tackle Kenny Clark to a three-year deal worth $64 million.
