DALLAS Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is coming to terms with the fact that he may be on a new team in 2025.

Prescott is playing on the final year of his contract with the Cowboys, and so far there has been no traction on a new deal.

Prescott spoke with reporters at training camp regarding his contract situation, and shared how he is looking at his contract situation.

"At the end of the day this is a business," Prescott said.

He paused for a few moments after that while trying to find his words before continuing.

"I want to be here, but when you look up all the great quarterbacks I watched played for other teams... That's not something to fear," Prescott continued.

"It may be a reality for me one day. It may not be my decision.

"I love my teammates, I love that locker room, I love everything about being a Dallas Cowboy, so that's what allows me to be free and focused."

Cowboys fans shared their hopes that Prescott will sign a new deal on social media after hearing his comments.

"I would hate to see the Cowboys lose Dak. I would hate to see Dak play for anyone else," one fan said.

"Love the transparency at the end. Forever my Qb," another fan said.

"I feel sorry for my QB. Jones can be a cold SOB," a third fan said.

"He’s so tired of the same questions. Can’t blame him," a fourth fan said.

"Romo would’ve been signed now smh," a fifth fan said.

Prescott is certainly deserving of an extension, as he has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL for years.

Last season was one of his best, as he threw for 4,506 yards with 36 touchdowns and only nine interceptions.

He has over 29,000 passing yards in his eight-year career and 202 career touchdown passes.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hasn't spoken much about the contract situation, but he did say one simple line about it before training camp.

"I do not think that this will be his last year with the Cowboys, at all," Jones said.

The Cowboys have more than just Prescott to worry about though, as CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons are both in need of new deals.

Lamb is sitting out of training camp currently to try negotiating a new contract.
