Spendolini-Sirieix and partner Lois Toulson delivered under pressure with a stunning final dive as they made their Olympics dream come true.

The duo were delighted and could not contain their emotions when the result was confirmed, jumping and gleefully hugging each other.

Then the tears began to flow as they were interviewed by the BBC's Sarah Mulkerrins and makeshift reporter Fred.

Spendolini-Sirieix wiped her eyes as she said: "I'm so happy. I usually have so much to say - but I don't have anything to say today.

"Having my family here and doing it alongside Lois, it's been a crazy two years.

"I have grown so much as a person alongside her - not just as an athlete - I'm so happy.

"If anyone could do it, it would be us."

Meanwhile, there were tears in her father's eyes, who added: "What a competition, it is always a rollercoaster with you two girls, you really took me round the bend and through the middle.
