"Admission is free, and exclusive to NABJ participants only," Molly told viewers last month.

Qerim took an unexpected break from First Take yesterday.

The 40-year-old anchor was replaced by Christine Williamson on Thursday's edition of the sports debate show.

Qerim's absence continues a trend mirrored throughout the last few weeks on ESPN's morning flagship.

Molly Qerim's life in the spotlight

Molly Qerim has risen through the ranks to become one of the biggest stars at ESPN.

The popular sports host began her media career in 2006 with ESPN and spent four years with the network.

She then covered college basketball and football for CBS Sports Network in New York.

Qerim balanced that with hosting duties for NFL Network in Los Angeles - fronting NFLAM and NFL Fantasy Live.

The host returned to ESPN in 2015 and immediately took the role of First Take anchor.

And Qerim has been an ever-present, popular host of the daily sports debate show ever since.

She recently enjoyed a two-week vacation away from the program, which airs every weekday morning on the network in a prime 10 am slot.

The show has undergone several personnel and schedule changes as its trio of stars take a well-earned break.

Smith returns just days after fans begged him to come back and stop the show from "falling apart."

He has appeared on First Take just three times since July 2.

Qerim appeared to already be in Chicago when Thursday's show aired from ESPN's Seaport Studios in New York.

She uploaded a short video to Instagram of her tucking into a tray of New York Giants sweet treats.

"People are nicer in the Midwest," she told her 673,000 Instagram fans.

Qerim spent her vacation out west, visiting both Wyoming and the Yellowstone National Park.
