The country music superstar appeared to support Kelce's teammate Harrison Butker by wearing his No 7 jersey.

Butker has become a pretty controversial character, not least because he recently claimed women are destined to be "homemakers".

His rhetoric has very much been of a conservative tone all round, including views on abortion and vaccines.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce was alongside Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at the concert.

Wallen wasn't silent between songs either, reportedly telling the audience, "always stand up for what you believe in."

Fans were quick to have their say, posting their views on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

"Surprised Taylor Swift allowed Travis to be a part of that," one fan said.

"I love Taylor and I'll be surprised if she's very happy seeing this," another fan said.

"This isn't good after the stuff Butker said - not impressed," a third fan posted.

Kelce addressed Butker's controversial comments on his New Heights podcast earlier this year.

The NFL superstar said he may not agree with Butker's comments, but still valued him highly as a teammate.

“I cherish him as a teammate," he said.

"I think Pat [Mahomes] said it best where he is every bit of a great person and a great teammate.

“He’s treated friends and family that I’ve introduced to him with nothing but respect and kindness and that’s how he treats everyone.

"When it comes down to his views, those are his.

“I can’t say I agree with the majority of it or just about any of it outside of just him loving his family and his kids and I don’t think that I should judge him by his views, especially his religious views, of how to go about life. That’s just not who I am.”

Kelce and Mahomes are busy preparing for the 2024 NFL season, which begins next month.

The Chiefs will be aiming for an historic three-peat of Super Bowl triumphs.
