LOS Angeles Dodgers All-Star Freddie Freeman has shared a positive update on his son's health.

The 34-year-old MLB star's son revealed on Friday that his 3-year-old son Maximus had recently been hospitalized.

In a joint Instagram post from Freddie and his wife, Chelsea, they revealed, "Last Friday, Max rapidly declined and went into full body paralysis.

"We are very fortunate to have gotten him to the hospital in time so they could reinforce his lungs."

They added that Freddie had been in Houston when Max began to suffer, so he rushed back.

Tests revealed that Max was "battling a severe case of Guillain-Barré syndrome.

"A rare neurological condition that is especially rare in children."

Thankfully, the Freemans revealed on Sunday that following an eight-day stint in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, they had finally returned home.

"Max still has a long road ahead of him to regain his strength and relearn how to walk," they explained.

"But we are so thankful to have our family back together.

"Thank you God for this miracle. Also, thank you to our incredible team of doctors and angel nurses for taking such good care of our boy.

"And to our village for helping so much with Charlie and Brandon."

The update included a moving snap of Max, Freddie, and Chelsea smiling together in the hospital, along with the youngster holding a "Prayers for Max" card, and one of the 3-year-old being carried around the hospital by his dad.

A moving video was also shared, showing brothers Charlie and Brandon welcoming Max home.

The comments section was quickly filled with replies from well-wishers, ranging from fans to fellow athletes and famous faces.

"Big Maxxxxxx," commented Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas, adding a series of blue heart emojis.

"Such good news," said Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick.

"Sweet boy! Glad he's doing better!" replied Kayla Harper, the wife of Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce.

Dodgers pitcher Bobby Miller, outfielder Kike Hernandez, and Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. were among those to reply with emojis.

Since Freddie's last game on July 25, the Dodgers have gone 3-4.

This includes back-to-back 10-0 and 3-2 wins against the Oakland A's over the weekend.

The Dodgers are currently top of the NL West at 65-47, with the Phillies coming to town on Monday.
