Breer is set to serve as an editorial consultant and help contribute on-air as well.

Iconic ESPN NFL Insider Chris Mortensen, who died this past March at 72 after a battle with throat cancer previously held the position of editorial consultant.

Breer has been the author of SI’s weekly Monday Morning Quarterback since 2018 when he replaced Peter King after he left for NBC.

The 44-year-old is set to stay at SI despite joining Amazon's Thursday Night Football.

Breer previously held positions at the Boston Globe and NFL Network throughout his career.

The Monday Morning Quarterback author appears on national talk shows frequently.

Fans can catch Breer on shows hosted by Colin Cowherd, Rich Eisen, and Dan Patrick.

Fans have weighed in on social media after discovering the possible addition.

"Breer is great. You knuckleheads could learn something from him," said one fan.

I’d argue "@AlbertBreer is the most informed NFL reporter, raved a second.

"It’s not about who is handed a scoop, but who has information and insights that other reporters don’t," the fan continued.

"Love Albert…but how many more people can they actually have for 1 game??" questioned a third.

"What is an editorial consultant's day-to-day?" asked a fourth fan.

Amazon's Thursday Night Football is entering its third season as Breer is set to join a team of former NFL stars and top broadcasters.
