Sember fell after clipping her heel on the back side of the fifth hurdle in the race.

The light clip knocked Sember off balance and sent her crashing forwards into the next hurdle.

Despite her best efforts to stay up, the 30-year-old stumbled forward and landed directly into next hurdle - slapping the ground in frustration afterwards.

The star chose not to finish the race, registering a DNF.

Sember, who was born in the USA but competes for Team GB, was crestfallen in an interview with the BBC after the race.

Fighting back tears, she said: "I'm okay, I'm really really sad.

"I'm just a little bit frustrated, because I have been training so hard and I'm ready. I'm sad."

She added: "I felt like I was coming up to the hurdles very quickly and I just lost my control unfortunately. It's frustrating.
