AN ESPN host couldn't help but roast NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins after he gave him a layup of a joke opportunity.

Get Up's Mike Greenberg was alongside NFL analyst Damien Woody as they spoke to Perkins about Team USA's gold medal win over France in men's basketball last weekend.

The ESPN morning show discussed LeBron James' performance in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The NBA icon received MVP of the men's basketball event at the age of 39.

Greenberg touched on LeBron's longevity and wanted Perkins to speak about it, so he asked him a question of the mocking variety.

"Weren't you and LeBron drafted in the same year? How long you been out of the game?" Greenberg asked Perkins.

The 39-year-old Perkins was drafted in LeBron's same draft class and played in the NBA for 15 seasons before retiring in 2018.

"Why (are) you bringing up old stuff?" Perkins comically asked Greenberg.

Perkins then shared that he played on the same AAU team with LeBron.

The 2008 NBA champion also brought up that he was a teammate of James in the McDonald's All-American Game together.

The all-star basketball game is played each year for American and Canadian boys' and girls' high school basketball graduates.

Perkins added that he "started the next chapter" of his life while LeBron has continued to ball out - both in the NBA and on the world stage.

But Greenberg wasn't interested in Perkins' take on LeBron and instead responded to his comment about playing in the McDonald's game with James.

"There was a McDonald's joke to be made somewhere in there, Big Perk, but I love you too much to make it," Greenberg said.

It seemed that Greenberg's hinted joke had to do with Perkins' 6-foot-10, 270-pound frame and that he now eats McDonald's instead of playing for the sponsored fast-food franchise.

Perkins and Woody immediately burst out laughing at Greenberg's remark.

Even Greenberg joined in on the fun as the panel couldn't control themselves with laughter.

Greenberg then changed the subject and proceeded to advertise ESPN's future WNBA broadcasted games.
