CARDIFF legend Robert Earnshaw said his "heart is full" after his son scored his first goal for Manchester United's under 16's.

Earnshaw's son, Silva Mexes, 14, signed for Manchester United this summer.

Mexes bagged his first goal for United's youth team last night against a Hong Kong U18 side.

And in tribute to his father, Mexes pulled off Earnshaw's signature acrobatic celebration.

Reacting to the goal on X, Earnshaw wrote: "❤️❤️ My heart is full.

"My son’s first goal for Manchester United Under 16 v Hong Kong u18.

Earnshaw took to social media after his son signed for United.

He said: "This is really really special. My incredible son Silva Mexes Tyler-Earnshaw who is known as Silva Mexes has signed for Manchester United academy.

"I am so so proud. He has worked hard & it’s such a blessing to see him find his passion and make this journey. I love you son.

"I am your number one fan. I will support you in any way possible and I know you have the qualities Go be GREAT."

Earnshaw, 43, enjoyed a playing career that spanned 17 years and spent time in the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two and the MLS.

He is the only player to have scored a hat-trick in the Prem, all three divisions of the English Football League, the League Cup, the FA Cup and in an international match.

Earnshaw started his professional career with Cardiff before going on to play for West Brom, Norwich, Derby CountyNottingham Forest, Blackpool, Toronto FC, Chicago Fire and Vancouver Whitecaps.

He retired in 2015 following a spell in the MLS.

The striker was also capped 59 times by Wales.
