Claypool hit the injured list earlier this week with a toe injury that had him designated as day-to-day.

However, the Bills decided not to hold on to him until he was healthy, and released him from the roster.

Claypool was released with an injury settlement, and is now free to sign with another team whenever he is healthy.

The 26-year-old wide receiver started out as a promising prospect coming out of Notre Dame, but things have come spiraling down.

He was drafted with the No. 59 pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers and had a stellar rookie season in 2020.

He went for 873 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, adding two rushing touchdowns.

Claypool followed that up with another strong showing in his sophomore season, going for 860 yards, but only scoring two touchdowns.

After that point, Claypool couldn't stick with a roster. The Steelers traded him due to some concerns within the locker room.

The Steelers ended up receiving the No. 32 overall pick in the 2023 Draft from the Chicago Bears for him, which they used to select Joey Porter Jr.

Claypool only played two half seasons with the Bears before being traded once again, this time to the Miami Dolphins last season.

He only managed 77 receiving yards in the entirety of the 2023 season.

Fans shared their opinions about Claypool, with some predicting where he could land next.

"Wild how his career has went. Hope he can turn it around," one fan said.

"Chase claypool to the giants is what I want to see," another fan said.

"Bro gonna play for every team by the time he’s done," a third fan said.
