Fox star Julian Edelman tips Bill Belichick for ‘enticing’ head coach role as fans admit ‘this would make sense’

Belichick is currently enjoying his first season away from the NFL since 1975

FORMER New England Patriots star Julian Edelman has a bold prediction for Bill Belichick's next role.

Three-time Super Bowl champion Edelman believes the New York Giants would be an "enticing" landing spot for the legendary head coach.

Belichick left the Patriots in January after spending 24 years with the organization.

He won six Super Bowl titles in Foxborough, as well as two more with the Giants where he served as defensive coordinator between 1985 and 1990.

Belichick has no coaching role for the 2024 season and has instead taken up various analyst positions.

Edelman joined The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Tuesday and was asked where he believed Belichick could land next season if he opts for a return to football.

"I think the situation has to be right," Edelman said.

"North east probably helps. He's got family there. The real enticing one to me is if the New York Giants open up."

Edelman went on to claim he hopes "nobody loses their job" and claimed he "loved" Giants coach Brian Daboll.

Big Blue has made the NFL playoffs in just one of the last seven seasons.

And Edelman believes Belichick's past adventures with the franchise could hold some weight.

"I remember vividly any time we played in New York, or we played the Giants, you could just see a little like jingle in Belichick's spirit," Edelman continued.

"He loved talking about those old Giants teams, and he loved talking about that organization.

"You know, you could tell that he loved the New York Giants."

"My dream and his," responded one fan to the exchange on X.

"Absolutely he would make a lot of sense for NYG," said another.

'Bill Belichick is a hypocrite'

Bill Belichick has been labeled a hypocrite for taking up a career in media.

The former New England Patriots coach will work for ESPN and The CW's Inside the NFL.

But Andrew Perloff, who co-hosts The Maggie and Perloff Show on Sirius XM, took exception.

"Networks have to stop hiring Bill Belichick,” Perloff said.

“Someone who openly mocked the media for two decades as head coach of the New England Patriots shouldn’t be able to walk right in and get multiple media jobs.

"He never said anything useful as an NFL coach and now he’s going to get paid talk?

"As brilliant as Belichick is, find someone else.”

"Just what the Giants need, 73-year defensive coach when they have no offense," countered a third.

Belichick was passed over for the Atlanta Falcons head coach role earlier this year.

He would reportedly like to return to the NFL but will be "choosy" over where he goes, according to ESPN.

Belichick has thrown himself into a new role as a media personality for the 2024 season.

He will feature once a week on ESPN's Pat McAfee Show and will also work on The CW's Inside the NFL.

In addition to these appearances, Belichick has also broken with tradition and joined social media.

Last week he left fans stunned as he officially joined Instagram.
