Tottenham ready to sell Vincent Janssen and cut their losses after failing to live up to his £20m price tag

The Dutch striker signed in the summer for £20 million and now they are willing to sell- before they've paid his transfer fee

Tottenham are willing to let Dutch forward Vincent Janssen go this summer, according to reports.

The striker has struggled to adapt to the Premier League following his £20m move from AZ Alkmaar in the summer.

The 22-year-old has scored just one goal in the Premier League this season, and the Mirror report that Spurs are willing to cut their losses on the striker this summer.

After scoring a staggering 27 goals in the Eredivisie last season he has failed to adjust to the Premier League as Harry Kane's understudy.

As Tottenham have yet to pay all of the fee, Janssen could be heading back to Holland with Spurs taking a relatively small financial hit.

With Kane injured, manager Mauricio Pochettino has often used winger Heung-min Son up front instead.

But the Spurs boss insisted he had no problem in relying on Janssen with Harry Kane out injured.

He said: “I told you that in the last months he stepped up and started to work better.

“I was happy in the way his performances were on the training ground.

“In football you need to be ready when you have an opportunity to show you’re quality.

“It’s a problem when the player is not ready for different reasons."

Selling Janssen would help free up some cash and his stock remains relatively high back in his own country.
