  • SoFi Stadium design

SoFi Stadium is the most expensive and largest stadium in the NFL at 3.1million square feet.

The striking roof structure projects images and video in the sky and provides stunning views for travelers landing at nearby LAX airport.

The field was built 100feet below ground level so the top of the structure did not interfere with the flight path.

Under the same canopy roof is a huge fan plaza and a 6,000-seat arena called YouTube Theater.

  • History of SoFi Stadium, continued

Six years later, the 70,000-seat arena known as SoFi Stadium opened its doors as the new home of the Rams and Chargers, which relocated from San Diego.

SoFi Stadium was the center of the sporting world when it hosted Super Bowl 56 between the Rams and Cincinnati Bengals.

The stadium is part of a wider 300-acre Hollywood Park site that will be the centerpiece of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

It was built by HKS Architects, which also designed Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium and Minnesota’s US Bank Stadium.

  • History of SoFi Stadium

Los Angeles Rams and Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke built a $5.5billion palace in Inglewood to bring the NFL back to the entertainment capital of the world.

Los Angeles had been without a team of their own since 1995, when the Rams moved to St Louis and the Raiders left for Oakland.

In 2014, Kroenke purchased 60 acres of land in Inglewood and announced his intention to build a new NFL stadium.

  • Upcoming Super Bowl sites

It was announced by the NFL on December 15 that the 2024 Super Bowl will be held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Other future Super Bowl sites include:

    • State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona for Super Bowl LVII (February 12, 2023)
    • Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX (February 9, 2025)
  • How much is the Lombardi Trophy worth?

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has valued the trophy at more than $10,000.

The late NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle commissioned it in 1966 and it was designed by former Tiffany and Company vice president Oscar Riedner.

Greg Grohs was the master silversmith at Tiffany and Company from 1967 to 1994.

  • Snoop and Eminem resolved feud 'privately'

A few months after Eminem released Zeus, Snoop addressed the diss track in an interview with Andy Cohen, saying, "He said what he said [on “Zeus”], I respect that. We just going to keep it right there. It’s family business.”

He issued an apology a year after the public feud on The Breakfast Club once again, saying that the two had already worked it out privately.

Snoop said that hip hop is "competitive" and that his comments were "out of pocket."

“I apologized to him, and I let him know and I’m just bettering myself. I make mistakes. I ain’t perfect, I’m Snoop Dogg.”

  • I'm the kneel Slim Shady

Eminem defied NFL bosses’ warnings by taking the knee during the Super Bowl half-time show.

The American rapper, 49, performed during the interval of the showpiece in California between the LA Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals.

It was a typically star-studded Super Bowl line-up with Dr Dre headlining the show and supported by Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J Blige and an upside-down 50 Cent.

And in a powerful moment at the end of his hit song Lose Yourself, Eminem took the knee with his head in his hands in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

His stance, which he held for around 50 seconds, highlighted the ongoing racism and discrimination that continues in the United States and around the world.

It was reported the NFL warned the collection of iconic artists against making any gestures.

  • What does 'who dey' mean?

‘Who dey’ is an abbreviation for the Bengals official chant “Who dey, who dey, who dey think gonna beat dem Bengals?"

The stadium full of rowdy fans clad in orange and black were expected to chant back “Nobody!”

CincyJungle, a blog by and for the Bengals faithful, claims that the 'who dey' chant has been a part of the Cincinnati experience since 1981.

  • Rings all around for Rapp

Taylor Rapp ruined every American man's chances of impressing their loved one this Valentine's Day.

The LA Rams safety got down on one knee in the minutes after winning the Super Bowl to propose to girlfriend Dani Johnson on the field at SoFi Stadium.

The adorable moment was shared by millions around the world and Rapp got an immediate yes from emotional Dani.

  • Play of the day for Van

LA Rams star Van Jefferson’s wife went into labour at the stadium while watching her husband in action during the Super Bowl.

Jefferson, 25, was part of the Rams side that pulled off a stunning comeback to win the sport’s most glittering prize by beating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20.

And Van rushed to be by her side as she gave birth - literally sprinting out of the arena while wild celebrations went on among his team-mates who had just won football's biggest prize.

He later shared an adorable snap cradling his newborn.

  • Security sack idiot invader

NFL fans were left stunned on Sunday as a fan invaded the field at the Super Bowl – only to get tackled by security short of the end zone.

TV cameras refused to show the invader, who galloped a full 80 yards down the field with three security guards in tow.

And if his dream was to score a touchdown on Super Bowl Sunday, he fell just short as he was dragged down at the 20-yard line.

The fan was carrying a white flag and was wearing a branded Super Bowl jacket.

Shaun McVay’s Rams could have done without the interruption after a torrid start to the second half, which saw them throw away a 13-10 advantage.

But they eventually wrestled the advantage back and won 20-23.

  • Sean McVey retirement talk

There are more than a few rumors going around SoFi Stadium that Sean McVay could be heading for the commentary booth after winning Super Bowl LIII.

The 36-year-old became the youngest ever head coach to win a Super Bowl in LA and has plans to get married and 'settle down'.

McVay is likely to have much of his coaching staff approached for bigger jobs around the NFL and he may have to assess where staff are before making a decision.

He may also have to get the Gatorade out of his hair as well.

Cooper Kupp has simply had a sublime season.

The Super Bowl MVP has raised the bar in terms of consistency and making big plays in the big moments.

This is also some superb stat.

  • Ram Stan is the man

Rams owner Stan Kroenke is basking in the glory of a Super Bowl triumph, six years after controversially moving the club from Missouri to LA.

Kroenke has come under fire for his ownership, particularly of Premier League team Arsenal, but this one will taste sweet, especially winning in the stunning new stadium he steered move the team into.

Owner Kroenke said: "I'm really proud of this group, all the guys, I'm so happy for them.

"These players unbelievable and they just hung in there. It was a tough game and I'm so proud of them executing it like they did.

"As far as building this stadium, it's turned out alright. Thanks to the great fans of Los Angeles - their first Super Bowl trophy in Rams house."

  • How much do commercial spots cost, continued

According to the outlet, this makes for a record-breaking price for a commercial spot during the Super Bowl.

Executives familiar with current negotiations also mentioned that potential sponsors may have to buy an equal amount of ad space during its 2022 broadcast of the Beijing Winter Olympics – that is if they want to score prominent placement.

According to Vogue, back in 1970, it cost a total of $78,200 for a commercial spot during the game.

Buying ad space on a major network does not come cheap, especially during one of the most-watched events in the US.

Back in June 2021, Variety reported that the Comcast-owned media conglomerate is charging a grand total of $6million per 30-second spot in the event.
