Jefferson is a wide receiver for the Rams and helped the team win against the Bengals 23-20 in a final quarter showdown.

The 25-year-old was drafted by the Rams in 2020 and previously played for his college at the University of Florida.

For the 2021 NFL season, Jefferson had 802 receiving yards, 50 receptions, and six touchdowns.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said in an interview on the Los Angeles Rams website that Jefferson owns what they want him to do and he is consistently learning and growing as a player.

"I think he's really worked hard. You can see he's a really conscientious player," McVay told the website in October 2021.

"He's making a lot of plays, that should give him a lot of confidence. And then there's still things that we can continue to just improve on to really be at the upper echelon, but feel really good about Van, I think he's made a lot of really good progress."

Van Jefferson, whose real name is Vanchi LaShawn Jefferson Jr., signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 with a 4-year contract.

He is contracted with the team for $5.6million and received a $1.6million sign-on bonus, according to Over the Cap.

His career is on an upward trajectory after winning the Super Bowl on February 13, 2022, and in October 2021, he told the staff writer for the Rams website that he has just been focused on taking his career "one day at a time."

Why did Van Jefferson rush out after the Super Bowl?

Super Bowl LVI winner Van Jefferson was seen rushing out of the stadium with his daughter after his 23-20 win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

A video showing Jefferson bolting from the stadium came after his wife, Samaria, went into labor during the game and was rushed to the hospital.

Jefferson and Samaria are high school sweethearts and share one daughter together.

Their son, who has yet to be named, was due on February 17 but arrived several days early.

Prior to the game, Samaria told The Athletic she was just going to "pray to God my water doesn't break," but added, "I am 100% going to be there. I would not miss this moment for anything.

"I will be 40 weeks pregnant at the Super Bowl, supporting my husband 100%."

Jefferson posted a photo with his newborn son on Instagram on February 14 and said, "It was a great day, bro. I got three prizes today -my wife, my son, and the Super Bowl."
