Darwin Nunez to seal £85m Liverpool transfer on six-year deal as Julian Ward flies out for final talks with Benfica

LIVERPOOL are set to seal an £85million move for Darwin Nunez with their director of football in Portugal to finalise the deal.

The Benfica striker looks certain to join Jurgen Klopp’s team after his stunning campaign.

Now the move appears to be on the verge of being completed with talks between the two clubs ramping up.

All that remains to be agreed is the transfer fee, and the Mail states that Liverpool chief Julian Ward is in Portugal to thrash out an agreement.

Benfica allegedly want £68m up front with a further £17m in add-ons.

However, Ward is hoping to negotiate a deal of around £60m for Nunez.

The 22-year-old striker scored 34 goals in 41 matches for Benfica last term - including strikes against the Reds in the Champions League.
