And that means she is now a 12-time champ.

Charlotte began with a series of chops before Ripley, who was wearing an impressive ‘Mania outfit to mark her debut on the Grandest Stage of Them All, hit back with the Riptide just two minutes into the match

However, her rival was able to kick out.

Ripley continued to have the control until she caught her leg in the ropes and that is when the veteran stepped it up.

Any attempt from the youngster to mount an offence was quickly countered with a kick to her damaged leg.

Charlotte went for the top rope but was caught by Ripley in an electric chair position, and she paid for it by getting slammed face-first into the canvas but she kicked out of the pin at two.

The challenger then skipped a boot and chop-blocked Ripley as the ref asked the champ whether she wanted to quit - which he received a stern reply to.

Ripley countered with a boot to the chest and locked in a standing cloverleaf, but Flair countered and managed to eventually apply a Boston Crab.

Soon Flair went for a Moonsault but was met with knees to the ribs but she regrouped and landed a spear that was followed by a near fall.

But Flair pounced quickly to lock in the Figure Four before turning it into the Figure Eight and forcing Ripley to tap out after a massively physical battle.
