TYSON FURY has accepted Drew McIntyre's challenge to fight after the Scot became Britain's first ever WWE champion and called out the Gypsy King.

The Scottish Terminator McIntyre survived a series of F-5s from Brock Lesnar to upset the odds and claim gold at Wrestlemania 36 on Sunday night.

The 34-year-old - from Ayr - finally fulfilled his destiny and Vince McMahon’s prediction as being “The Chosen One” after a short but brutal match with the ex-UFC king.

And he wasted no time in laying down the gauntlet to Fury and ex-Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton telling talkSPORT: "The next thing I want to do is fight Chris Sutton.

"And Tyson Fury was talking trash, let him know I've won the belt and after I beat Sutton I'm coming for Fury."

But the Gypsy King - who recently destroyed Deontay Wilder to claim boxing's WBC title - wasted no time in hitting back at McIntyre.

He posted a pic of himself beating Braun Strowman at Saudi Arabia's Crown Jewel event in October alongside a caption that read: "@dmcintyrewwe has call me out after his @wwe Wrestlemania 36 victory.

"First I say congratulations and what a fantastic job. Secondly I accept his challenge, anytime any place, anywhere.👍🏻🙏🏻"

Clearly thrilled with his historic victory, McIntyre also told talkSPORT: "I don't even know what to say, I'm sat here with the belt in America thinking what is life right now.

"I just became the first WWE champion - I just told my mate and I'm now about to speak to (talkSPORT presenter) Ally McCoist about it.

"It's an incredible feeling. It would have been nice to have the 80,000 fans inside the stadium and my family but I'm still so proud.

"Hopefully - this is 19 years of work - it has put a smile on people's faces.

"When it gets backs to normal, the next thing I want to do is fight Chris Sutton.

"And Tyson Fury was talking trash, let him know I've won the belt and after I beat Sutton I'm coming for Fury."

Meanwhile Sutton angered wrestlers after claiming in December they are just guys who "are not good enough to box".

It seems McIntyre is keen to prove there is more to them than that.

The new WWE Champion also revealed he sees similarities between himself and the Gypsy King.

He said: "I was signed in 2007, the first Scot, I went to America at 21 and had success.

"Vince McMahon told the world I would be world champion but I made some mistakes.

"But I worked my a*** off, I didn't work from scratch, I worked from ten feet under - I know Fury went through something similar.

"If you put your mind to it and work hard enough you can be world champion."
