UFC hero Conor McGregor had an inspirational message for Katie Taylor.

McGregor said: “Keep your head up, you're the champion, you're the Olympic champion and you're the world champion still in your division.”

UFC legend Conor McGregor was spotted looking heartbroken ringside as Katie Taylor lost to Chantelle Cameron before calling for a rematch.

McGregor was asked if he wanted to see the rematch at Croke Park, which he replied: “Yeah, yes I f*****g would.

“She went up in weight at the drop of a hat. She was scheduled for one different style of opponent at a specific weight and that fell through.

“So last minute what does Katie do? The warrior that's in her? She gave me something to aspire to!

“She wanted to go up in weight and fight the champion in the heavier weight at the drop of a hat. Give her a chance to do it at Croke Park, for sure Croke Park is on.

“It was a close bout, the size was prevalent but Katie is a tactician, give Katie another bash at that.”

Cameron says: "I was petrified, I have seen it before, I thought i'm not going to get the decision.

"Katie is a great fighter, but I turned up to the occasion. I don't mind getting hit, it's one of them where they let me off the leash.

"She is so fast, rapid, tough, I thought maybe I have nicked some rounds there."

Katie Taylor has declared that she WILL activate her rematch clause to fight Chantelle Cameron again.

The Bray Bomber was beaten by Cameron by majority decision in Dublin.

It was Taylor's first loss of her career.

She told Matchroom: “I'm kind of sick of putting my belts on the line. I'll go down to 135lbs and take them belts off her hands.”

Jake Paul has thrown his support over to Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron.

Paul promoted Taylor's undisputed super-fight with Amanda Serrano last year and was setting up the rematch.

But Serrano pulled out injured, leaving Taylor to move up to super-lightweight to challenge but lose to Cameron.
