Owen Hart’s wife Martha forgives WWE after his death at 1999’s Over The Edge in new Dark Side Of The Ring documentary

OWEN HART’S widow Martha has revealed that she has forgiven the WWE for her husband's death...but she will NEVER let him be inducted into the company's Hall of Fame.

The Canadian tragically died aged 34 in 1999 after an equipment malfunction caused him to suffer a fatal fall during his ring entrance at the Over the Edge pay-per-view event.

The 1994 King of the Ring was a beloved member of the WWE locker room and Mark Henry made a public plea for his inclusion during his own induction to the Hall of Fame in 2018.

Owen's brother, the legendary Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, has also called for his late sibling to be recognised alongside him.

Yet the former two-time Intercontinental champion's widow Martha won't ever allow it as she still blames WWE for his death.

The shocking accident will be highlighted in a new Dark Side Of The Ring documentary tomorrow where his wife discusses the horrendous incident in-depth for the first time.

And in an interview with CBSSports to promote the episode, Martha slammed the idea of Owen entering the Hall of Fame.

It doesn't exist. There's nothing. It's a fake entity. It's just an event they have to make money. I would never even entertain it. It's garbage

She said: "There's always been this talk that, 'Oh, we want to put Owen in the Hall of Fame,' Their Hall of Fame? They don't even have a Hallway of Fame.

"It doesn't exist. There's nothing. It's a fake entity. There's nothing real or tangible. It's just an event they have to make money.

"They put it on TV and have a celebration, and it's just so ridiculous. I would never even entertain it. It's garbage."

Martha sued WWE twice following Owen's tragedy, firstly a wrongful death lawsuit three weeks after he died which resulted in an out of court settlement for around $18m in November 2000.

She then filed another lawsuit in June 2010 against Vince McMahon's company for using Owen’s name and likeness in numerous DVDs.

That was also settled out of court in April 2013 for an undisclosed figure.

Martha also revealed that she no longer has a relationship with the rest of the Hart family after feeling “betrayed” by them during her legal fight with WWE.

But despite the horrendous ordeal, the 53-year-old has since claimed she's forgiven everyone surrounding Owen's death and the events afterward.

She added: “At the end of it all, I've forgiven all of them, really.

"The Hart family, Vince McMahon, I don't hold any grudges.

"I hope life has been kind to all of them. My life hasn't been easy, and I certainly wouldn't wish harm on anyone… Some damage in life is irreparable. You can't fix it. It's done.

"Again, you can forgive people, but it doesn't mean you have to befriend them and be associated with them. At the same time, I don't wish them any harm, and I hope their lives turned out well.

"That's the casualties of war. They made their choices and have to live with them. Part of that is not having a relationship with me or Owen's children. That was their choice, not mine.”
