Freeman joined the Gunners from League Two's Gillingham in 2008 for a fee of around £200,000.

He signed a two-year deal to become part of Arsenal's youth academy on the club's scholar scheme.

When he moved to the Premier League giants former Arsenal manager Wenger described the player as "a very interesting prospect".

During his four-year spell for the North London side, the midfielder played for the U18 side where he scored seven goals in 15 appearances in the 2008/09 season.

He then signed for League One side Stevenage in 2012 followed by Bristol City, QPR and Sheffield United before ending up at Luton Town in 2022.

Freeman only made 26 appearances and scored two goals for the first-time Premier League contenders.

Now just weeks into the new Prem League season Freeman is unemployed as his time with the Hatters has come to an end.

The club a statement, which read: "Luton Town can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Luke Freeman to be released from his contract by mutual consent.
