The former world heavyweight champion has been linked with a trilogy fight against Evander Holyfield.

Shannon Briggs also claimed he has agreed a deal to face him, while current WBC king Tyson Fury said he has also accepted a challenge to go one-on-one with his hero in a charity exhibition match.

But judging by the latest comments from the Baddest Man On The Planet, the icon’s return could be in the wrestling ring rather than its boxing counterpart.

All Elite Wrestling superstar Jericho called out Tyson on this week’s episode of Dynamite to demand an apology after he was knocked out by the legend on WWE’s Monday Night Raw a decade again.

That led to a huge brawl between both parties as the AEW rushed out to break the two men up.

And now Tyson has promised to get his revenge on Y2J, saying: “Hey, I'm telling you, this is not over.

“I'm coming back and Jericho's getting his ass kicked.”

And Jericho even admits his foe is in great shape and in ideal condition for a wrestling match to settle their differences.

But he says any potential showdown would be on his terms.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Jericho said: “He's in great mental shape, physical shape and he's ready to make a comeback.

“Whether that means a boxing match or whether it means a wrestling match or whatever it could be.

“He wants to be in the spotlight again and AEW's the cool place to be. I mean, there's no doubt about it. I think anybody that watches wrestling knows that and that's why Mike came to play with us, so to speak.”

When quizzed on whether the 53-year-old would be capable of a match against him, Jericho added: “It's not up to him, that's up to me.

“Of course, he's capable. Wrestling is all shapes and sizes and there's a lot of different ways to do it.

“So if he's agreeable to doing something with us, then we work to his strengths and eliminate his weaknesses - that's what wrestling's all about.”
