The UFC flop was asked on Twitter whether he is tempted to climb back into the wrestling ring again soon.

In response to the fan, the veteran of the sport replied: "Currently divided.

"The country is on fire and it legit made me laugh out loud for a second so, entertained?

"Mission accomplished? I'm happy I don't take it so seriously anymore."

In response, one excited fan said: "Punk, get your a** back in the ring, you're the only reason why I would watch wrestling again."

Another added: "Do you know how much it would mean to us for you to wrestle again? Like a breath of fresh air."

He was quizzed by the fan after he responded to the latest WWE storyline on Twitter.

A clip shared to social media showed Jeff Hardy being arrested for allegedly hitting Elias with his rental car.

Punk said: "Lol at the cop sniffing the full beer bottle that didn't get spilled then saying "Jeff Hardy" like he's calling bingo numbers. I'm dying."

Punk, real name Phil Brooks, tried his luck in the Octagon after he left WWE following a bitter row with management.

The 41-year-old got off to a bad start when he lost his debut to Mickey Gall back in 2016.

And things went from bad to worse when he was battered by Mike Jackson at UFC 225.
