Kansas City Chiefs updates — Travis Kelce suffers sprained ankle injury after Minnesota Vikings game – see final score

TRAVIS Kelce was injured during last night's Chiefs game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Kansas City Chiefs player went down after slipping on the field and was seen throwing his helmet on the ground and screaming before heading to the locker room for X-rays on his ankle.

After doctors reported that the NFL star's X-rays came back negative for a break, Travis returned to the game at the beginning of the second half with a heavily taped ankle - and the Chiefs went on to beat the Vikings 27-20.

Following the game, Chiefs' head coach Andy Reid confirmed the star had suffered a sprained ankle, but gave no update on whether he will return for Thursday's game.

While Travis is still rumored to be dating Taylor Swift, the superstar was nowhere to be seen at Sunday's game.

The Chiefs return home on Thursday to play the Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium.

NFL athletes who sign a non-exclusive contract are given more power than players who have an exclusive contract.
