‘He changed the game forever’, say NBA fans after Steph Curry’s ‘insane’ streak going back to 2018 finally ends

Steph Curry set yet another record that likely won't be broken for decades, maybe even ever

The Golden State Warriors took down the Portland Trail Blazers 118-114 on Sunday night, but there was still one loss for the Warriors.

Curry's record of games with a three-pointer ended after going 268 games with at least one three-pointer made.

His streak started on December 1, 2018.

Curry is the NBA's all-time leader in three-pointers, recently draining his 3,500th, and last went a game without making a three pointer on November 8, 2018.

The next closes streak to Curry's record 268 games in 157 games, which is also owned by him.

Now, the longest active streak in the NBA is 101 games - a record set by Damian Lillard.

In fact, you could stack Lillard's streak and the next four longest active streaks and they wouldn't be longer than Curry's 268 games.

On Sunday, Curry only shot 2-12 from the field and went 0-8 from three to lose the streak. He scored seven points on the night.

Even though Curry lost his streak, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr used it as an example for a good team win.

"We can't rely on Steph to bail us out on every single night," Kerr said.

"It was a tough night for him. But that's what a team is supposed to be about -- everybody filling in for each other, different guys stepping up each night.

"That's a great sign, because he's carried us for long enough this year. We need to give him more help."

Fans gave Curry credit on social media for his insane streak, saying he changed the way basketball is played.

"Changed the game forever!!!" one fan said.

"Damn, that's well over three years!" another fan said.
