KSI reveals plans to continue boxing career after Logan Paul fight but mocks US rival for world champion dream
KSI will continue his boxing career beyond Saturday night but laughed off American enemy Logan Paul’s vow to become a world champion.
Paul and trainer Shannon Briggs believe the 24-year-old weekend debutant can go on to beat the likes of British Olympic and heavyweight icon Anthony Joshua.
Briggs insists his fellow American can squeeze around 20 fights in to the next two years and land a heavyweight world title before he turns 30.
Watford’s KSI, real name Olajide Olayinka Williams, is no stranger to an outlandish statement but even he draws the line at planning world title tilts.
The 26-year-old said: “This is not a one-fight think for me, I will continue in boxing but I won’t be fighting Canelo or trying to box genuine world champions.
“I won’t be like him and vowing to fight and beat the likes of Anthony Joshua. I will be smart with it.
“In the next fight I have I will probably fight a proper pro who will be alright, not great and I'll beat him.
"Then build the whole card around that. I can do that easily in the UK with the fanbase I have.”
Briggs, a two-time heavyweight champ who beat the legend George Foreman, has ridiculous aspirations for the blond vlogger who picked up a pair of gloves for the first time 18 months ago - with both YouTubers undergoing major transformations.
The 47-year-old said: “He's going to heavyweight champion in three to five years, mark my words, I did it twice.
“I've got the blueprint, he is the specimen, he has the body, the agility, the athleticism, everything it takes.
"I became heavyweight champion of the world after less than 40 fights, he’s young, he's 24, what's the rush? By the time he's 27 he's going to be in contention”.
Briggs seems to believe Paul will capitalise on 31-year-old Tyson Fury and 33-year-old Deontay Wilder coming to the end of their celebrated careers will allow Paul to sneak in and stun the world.
But he is forgetting young dangermen like Daniel Dubois, Filip Hrgovic and Tony Yoka tearing up the division to take their places.

The excitable 68-fight veteran said: "Boxing changes every week, every month, a guy's the heavyweight champion and then he's gone.
“In three to five years there may be no Wilder, there may be no Fury, I'm sure there won't because they're making too much money.
“But Logan Paul will be around, he's doing it right now, this kid will be the champ.”
