But after whipping in a right hand, that rocked KSI, Yank Paul grabbed his opponents head and continued punching.

To make things worse the 24-year-old bookies favourite hit his man while he was on the floor.

Referee Jack Reiss counted the knockdown, but deducted Paul TWO POINTS for punching while holding and the illegal shots as KSI was on the deck.

Reiss agreed the first right hand was clean and caused the resulting knockdown, but penalised Paul for the multiple offences.

The deducted points came back to well and truly cost 'The Maverick' as he was beaten on a split decision.

The US superstar was beaten on the cards losing the deceive verdict by two points - the same number he was penalised with.

Distraught Paul revealed he will contest the referee's decision to take the two points.

He said: “I let emotions get the best of me.

“No warning and I got two points taken away from me.

"I would love to contest the commission.”
