Man Utd tell Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job is safe and they will NOT go for Mauricio Pochettino after Tottenham sacking
MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that his job is safe despite Mauricio Pochettino being available.
The Argentine was one of the names at the forefront of United's thinking when Solskjaer was first appointed and is looking for work after Tottenham let him go.
That sacking coincided with a tricky run of form for the Red Devils, who had won one in eight in the league after the December 1 draw with Aston Villa.
However Solskjaer has since responded impeccably, beating both Spurs and neighbours Manchester City.
Those wins haven't cured United's woes indefinitely but can help provide momentum for the Norwegian's squad rebuild.
According to Daily Mail, co-chairman Joel Glazer flew to Manchester in person recently to hold talks with Solskjaer.
He told the coach his position is safe and the club will be patient in allowing him to renew the side after a number of disappointing years.
Even if the Glazers were to dispense with their current manager, a new arrival such as Pochettino would also demand time and resources to restructure.

Solskjaer, 46, will celebrate his 12-month anniversary in charge of United later this month and can afford a little optimism now the team are back firing.
In fifth place in the Premier League and qualified in Europe, the Red Devils have Marcus Rashford on terrific form with eight goals in his last seven games.
And they will aim to keep their momentum up when facing AZ Alkmaar on Thursday in a duel for top spot in Europa League Group L.
