Arsenal fans offered free luxury holiday to remote island with no internet to escape their team’s woeful season
TWO Arsenal fans have been offered a free luxury island heaven to escape their Premier League hell - WITHOUT internet at one of the world's most remote havens.
Suffering supporters have seen the Gunners slump to tenth in the Premier League after Sunday's 3-0 home loss to Manchester City, Mikel Arteta now tipped to come in as permanent boss.
Now betting app Wager will give a pair of Gooners a trip 5,000 miles away to St George’s Caye in Belize, which has no roads, cars or grocery stores, let alone shopping malls or other hurly-burly trappings of modern life.
Best or worst of all is the lack of connection with the outside world.
The prized honeymoon destination is free of TVs, phones and in-room Wi-Fi, offering instead scuba-diving, swimming with sharks, and all-round sunny relaxation.
Arsenal fans might be curious to see how fortunes change once Unai Emery's successor has been named, with caretaker chief Freddie Ljungberg failing to revive either spirit or style on the pitch.
But seething supporters can nominate other Gooners for the exotic vacation to St George’s Caye, eight miles east of capital Belize City.
Fans just need to download the Wager app and send a bet to a friend by the end of March, meaning both will then be entered for the draw.
After that, two supporters will swap heartache for hammocks, and collapses for cocktails, on an island named by Lonely planet as one of the world's top-ten countries to visit.
